ATS Anti-Losing Alarm Package / Personal Safety Alarm ,
Types of Molded Pulp
Type-1: Thick-Wall
These products usually have wall thicknesses of 3/16" to 1/2" and are used primarily for support packaging applications. The surfaces are very rough on one side and moderately smooth on the opposite side. Product definition is moderate due to the use of relatively inexpensive single-pass molds and the use of mixed recovered paper and kraft paper slurries. Typical uses are for edge and edge protector, heavy item packaging, auto replacement parts, molded pulp pallet trays etc.
Type-2: Transfer Molded
A McDonald's spray-molded vacuum-formed cup carrier. The open slits are punched out of the carrier following the drying process.
Transfer molded products are usually thin walled, 1/16" to 3/16", and are the most prevalent type in use today. The process uses vacuum forming and take-off or transfer molds, where the mold is an extremely fine wire mesh in the shape of the upper/exposed surface. The fibrous slurries are frequently made up of a high percentage or entirely of recycled newspaper, which produces a relatively smooth surface on one side and a fairly smooth surface on the opposite side with good accuracy and definition.
Prior to the molding process, the mesh is mated with a vacuum chamber that draws air and moisture through the mesh into the chamber, with the mesh mold suspended above a liquid return pool. The fibrous slurry is sprayed from below onto the mold, and the vacuum draws the slurry tightly against the mesh, filling all gaps and spaces. When airflow through the mesh has been sufficiently blocked, the excess slurry falls into the return pool for recycling, and the mold advances onward to the drying process, following by separation of the mesh mold from the dried fiber plating , cake container .
Typical uses of transfer molded products are for packaging electronic equipment, cellular phones and other household and hardware items. Very high capacity, high-speed transfer molding equipment is used to produce drink trays, cup carriers ,wine shippers, egg cartons, egg trays, pulp bedpan liners, pulp urinals, fruit trays, slipper pans, commode pans, etc , plastic bowl .
Type-3: Thermoformed Fibe , ultrasonic mist .
This newest form of molded pulp is the highest quality of thin walled products available today. The process uses "Cure-In-The-Mold" technology which produces strong, well defined smooth surfaced molded pulp products. After being formed, the product is captured in heated forming molds which presses and densifies the molded products. They are accurately formed and have the appearance of plastic material. The products are ejected from the heated molds in their finished state as opposed to being dried in a heated oven. Typical uses for this type are for point-of- purchase packaging and those applications where high definition and appearance are of prime importance , square glass jar .
Type-4: Processed
This type of molded pulp product is that which has undergone some kind of secondary processing which is generally different than or in addition to, the basic production procedure. This could apply to any of the first three types. Secondary processing could be coating, printing, hot-pressing, die-cutting, trimming or manufactured using colors or special slurry additives. Uses are for many kinds of custom applications.
See also
packaging
cushioning
Further reading
Brody, A.

Ceramic Structured Packing ,
In different countries
The deviled egg originated in ancient Rome according to the show The Secret Life Of.... They are still popular across the continent of Europe. In France they are called uf mimosa; in Hungary, tlttt tojs; in Belgium, The Netherlands and Germany, where they are usually filled with caviar and served in rmoulade sauce, they are known as "Russian Eggs" (a title that comes from the presence of the caviar). Deviled eggs are a common dish in the United States. In the Midwestern and Southern U.S., they are commonly served as hors d'oeuvres before a full meal is served, often during the summer months. Deviled eggs are so popular, that in the United States special carrying trays are sold specifically for them. Prepared and packaged deviled eggs are now available in some U.S. supermarkets.
Preparation
Deviled eggs in a serving dish
First, the uncracked eggs are boiled until the yolks are hard and firm, referred to as "hard-boiling". When the cooked eggs have cooled, the eggs are peeled then sliced lengthwise. The yolks are removed, leaving two egg white halves with empty "cups". The yolks are mashed and mixed with a variety of other ingredients, most often mayonnaise and mustard. Tartar sauce is also frequently used. Other common flavorings include: diced pickle or pickle relish, corn relish, a dash of sugar, along with salt, ground black pepper, powdered cayenne pepper or chipotle chilis, vinegar, green olives, pimentos, poppyseed, and minced onion. The yolk mixture is then scooped with a spoon or knife or piped into each egg "cup." Paprika may be sprinkled on top as a garnish.
In French cuisine, the other ingredients are most likely to be pepper and parsley. In the Hungarian cuisine the yolks are mashed and mixed with white bread soaked in milk, mustard and parsley, often served as an appetizer in mayonnaise or as a main course baked in the oven with Hungarian sour cream topping and served with French fries. Other common flavorings of the yolks in the German cuisine are anchovy and caper , buy glass jars .
Flavoring , aluminium foil containers .
Deviled egg yolks can be colored , aluminum tray .
The term "deviled" dates back to the 19th century, referring to the use of particularly hot spices in cooking. Contemporary versions of deviled eggs may include a wide range of seasonings and added foods, such as garlic, horseradish, wasabi, cheese, chutney, capers, salsa, hot sauce, mushrooms, spinach, sour cream, caviar, smoked salmon, or other seafood. Thus contemporary deviled eggs are not always particularly spicy , foam pumps .
Name
The term "deviled", in reference to food, was in use in the 18th century, first known print reference appearing in 1786. In the 19th century, it came to be used most often with spicy or zesty food, including eggs prepared with mustard, pepper, or other ingredients stuffed in the yolk cavity.
See also
List of egg dishes
References
Categories: Egg dishes | American cuisine | French cuisine | Italian cuisine | Hungarian cuisine | German cuisine

Pseudo-anglicisms often take the form of portmanteau words, combining elements of multiple English words to create a new word that appears to be English but is unrecognisable to a native speaker of English. It is also common for a genuine English word to be used to mean something completely different from its original meaning.
Pseudo-anglicisms are related to false friends or false cognates. Many speakers of a language which employs pseudo-anglicisms believe that the relevant words are genuine anglicisms and can be used in English.
When many English words are incorporated into many languages, language enthusiasts and purists often look down on this phenomenon, terming it (depending on the importing language) Denglisch, Franglais or similar neologisms.
Contents
1 Pseudo-anglicisms in various languages
1.1 Chinese
1.2 Czech
1.3 Danish
1.4 Dutch
1.5 Filipino languages
1.6 French
1.7 German
1.8 Hungarian
1.9 Israeli Hebrew
1.10 Italian
1.11 Japanese
1.12 Polish
1.13 Portuguese
1.14 Romanian
1.15 Russian
1.16 Spanish
1.17 Swedish
1.18 Turkish
2 Sources
3 References
4 See also
5 External links
//
Pseudo-anglicisms in various languages
Chinese
BB call pager
DM flyer, brochure, junk mail (from "direct mail")
k?o to photocopy (from the first syllable in "copy")
Czech
server website ("server" is also called "server")
Danish
Babylift (IPA:[b?e?b?ilifd?]) "carrycot".
A b?fsandwich (IPA:[b??:fs?n?it?]) is not a beef sandwich, but a beef patty on a bun (similar to a hamburger).
Dutch
Beamer (also in German) video projector
Beauty case vanity bag
Box (large, toddler-sized) cot
Camper (also in Italian) recreational vehicle (RV) or campervan
Camping (also in other European languages) campsite
Coffeeshop a store selling cannabis (or, colloquially, other psychedelic drugs)
Drugs refers exclusively to narcotics (not to medicines in general)
Dumpstore meaning an army surplus store
The word flat is often used to refer to a block of flats. It is also known as a bending machine or bending brake.
Description
This section needs additional citations for verification. Please help improve this article by adding reliable references (ideally, using inline citations). Unsourced material may be challenged and removed. (February 2009)
The brake consists of a flat surface onto which the material is placed, and a clamping bar which will come down and hold the material firmly during the bend. This clamping action may be manual, automatic or operated using a foot pedal. The front, gate-like, plate of the machine is hinged and may be lifted, forcing the material extended over a straight edge to bend to follow the plate.
Different shapes may be fitted to the clamping bar to permit bending of restricted areas of a piece of sheet metal or of already partially formed pieces.
The bends can be to any angle up to a practical limit of about 120 degrees.
After bending, a box or pan form is then completed by screw, solder, weld, or other metal fixing process.
Sizes of brakes
Brakes come in sizes suitable for light aluminum or brass for small boxes and operated by hand, up to industrial sized and counterwighted hand operated or hydraulic machines suitable for large sheets of steel.
References
^ Box & Pan

v?d?e Metalworking - Fabrication
Fabrication
Pan brake Crimp English Wheel Ironworker Nibbler Sheet metal Soldering
Metalworking topics
Casting CNC Cutting tools Drilling and threading Fabrication Forging Grinding Jewellery Lathe Machining Machine tools and associated tooling Measuring Metalworking Hand tools Metallurgy Milling NC Occupations Press tools Pipe and tube bending Smithing Turning General terminology Welding
Categories: Metal forming | Metalworking fabrication | Metalworking tools | Plastics industry
Hidden categories: Articles needing additional references from February 2009 To get More information , you can visit some products about door frames wood, high density fiberboard, wood chess board, dining set teak, .

Weleda Wild Rose Intensive Eye Cream ,
Slave beads (often called Trade beads) were otherwise decorative glass beads used between the 16th and 20th century as a currency to exchange for goods, services and slaves (hence the name). Made to ease the passage of European explorers and then traders mainly across the African continents, the beads were made throughout Europe although the Venetians dominated production. Trade beads are also found in the United States and Canada, and throughout Latin America. The production of slave (trade) beads became so popular that literally tons of these beads were used for this purpose. Beads were used as ballast in slave/trade ships for the outbound trip. The beads and other trade items were exchanged for human cargo as well as ivory, gold and other goods desired in Europe and around the world. The beads traded were not of a set design, but were produced according to demand. Millefiori (thousand flower) beads from Venice, Italy were one of the most commonly traded beads, and are commonly known as "African trade beads." They were produced by creating flowers or stripes from glass canes, that were then cut and moulded onto a core of solid color. Beads such as the kiffa beads of Mauritania are thought to have resulted from women creating powdered glass beads to mimic the appearance of millefiori beads.
The success of this form of currency can largely be attributed to the high intrinsic value African people put upon decorative items. Africans often used beads for currency, (often referred to as african money) and wealth storage, and social status could be easily determined by the quality, quantity and style of jewellery worn. This created a high demand for trade beads in Africa.
External links
"Trade Beads". History, Periods & Styles.

Copper Etching Pictures ,

(Redirected from Carron Iron Works)
The Carron Company was an ironworks established in 1759 on the banks of the River Carron near Falkirk, in Stirlingshire, Scotland. After initial problems, the company was at the forefront of the Industrial Revolution in the United Kingdom. The company prospered through its development and production of a new short-range and short-barrelled naval cannon, the carronade. The company was one of the largest iron works in Europe through the 19th century. After 223 years, the company became insolvent in 1982 and was later acquired by the Franke Corporation.
Contents
1 Early years
2 Carronades
3 Prosperity and fall
4 Trivia
5 Further reading
6 External links

//

Early years
The company was founded as a partnership by three men, two Englishmen, Dr John Roebuck, a chemist, and Samuel Garbett, a merchant, and a wealthy Scottish shipowner, William Caddell. The factory of "Roebucks, Garbett and Cadells" was established on the north bank of Carron Water, two miles north of Falkirk. Taking iron ore from Bo'ness and water from the Carron, they decided to use the new method pioneered by Abraham Darby at Coalbrookdale, using coke from coal mines in the vicinity as fuel rather than the usual charcoal. The works helped to push other less technologically advanced ironworks, such as the Wealden iron industry based in the Weald, out of business.
Caddell's young son, also William, was appointed manager, and the company's financial position was precarious in its first few years. It took time and a considerable investment to create the necessary infrastructure and for the largely unskilled workforce to develop the techniques of iron working. The first blast furnace became operational on 26 December 1760, producing pig iron. However, when the factory started to produce cast iron goods, they were of a generally poor quality. Nevertheless, in 1764, the Board of Ordnance granted the company a lucrative contract to supply armaments to the British armed forces. The company also cast parts for James Watt's steam engine in 1765.
The company's fortunes had begun to improve as a result of Charles Gascoigne becoming a partner in 1765. Gascoigne was a grandson of Charles Elphinstone, 9th Lord Elphinstone and had married Samuel Garbett's daughter in 1759. Gascoigne introduced many improvements in the company's techniques of production, and devoted considerable effort to increasing the quality of its work, and he took over the management of the works from William Cadell, Jr, in 1769.
The company received a royal charter to incorporate as the Carron Company in 1773. However, despite Gascoigne's efforts, the quality of company's products had remained low, and the company's contracts to supply the Royal Navy were cancelled in 1773, with the company's cannon being removed from all naval vessels.
Carronades
Undeterred, Gascoigne also pushed forward the development of a new type of cannon, originally known as the "Gasconades" but better known by its later name, the "Carronade". Easily identified by its considerably shortened barrel, the carronade had the same calibre as a long gun, but contained much less metal and so was much lighter, enabling naval vessels to carry many more carronades than long guns. The resulting short range was not a problem as a result of the close-to broadside tactics employed at the time. The new weapon was a considerable success, and remained in production from 1778 through to the 1850s. The company established such a reputation for quality that the Duke of Wellington remarked in a letter to Admiral Berkley in 1812 that he only wanted cannon manufactured by the Carron Company in his army. The company also made ammunition, including some invented by Henry Shrapnel.
The company also supplied armaments to governments outside the UK, including weapons supplied to the embryonic United States which were used against Britain in the War of 1812. The British government tried to prevent the company from supplying plans and equipment to the Russian Empire, intended to improve Catherine the Great's weapons foundry at Petrozavodsk; nonetheless, Gascoigne delivered the Russian's orders, and travelled to Russia in May 1786 to supervise the works. He remained in Russia for 20 years, dying in July 1806 in Kolpino near St. Petersburg as Actual State Councillor Karl Karlovich Gaskoin.
Prosperity and fall
By 1814, the Carron Company was the largest iron works in Europe, employing over 2,000 workers, and it attracted many innovators. William Symington was an engineer for the Carron Company in the early 1800s, and the company made engines for his steamboats, the Experiment and the Charlotte Dundas . John Smeaton was a consultant for the company. Henry Cort experimented on methods to produce malleable iron, anticipating the puddling process. Benjamin Franklin visited the factory, leaving works and is said to have left a design for a stove- 'Dr Franklin's stove or the Philadelphia stove'
The company continued to produce pig iron through the 19th century, together with cast iron products such as ballustrades, fire grates, and the Carron bathtub. It ran its own shipping line, and produced munitions in both World Wars, and telephone kiosks in the later 20th century. In the 1960s, it produced cast iron rings to line the Tyne Tunnel under the River Tyne from Jarrow to Howdon and the Clyde Tunnel under the River Clyde from Whiteinch to Govan near Glasgow.
The company diversified into plastics and stainless steel, but the works went into receivership in 1982. The Company still exists today under the name of Carron Phoenix and is part of the Franke corporation. They produce both stainless steel and Granite moulded sinks which are sold around the world however some areas of production have been moved to China recently.
Trivia
An isolated beach on the west coast of the island of Zakynthos, Greece, has the shell of a Carron-built ship washed up on the beach. It is the one of the island's most famous tourist attractions. The vessel still bears the plate of the company, "Carron Company Stirlingshire". Local folklore suggests it was run aground after an intense chase from the Greek Navy as it smuggled wine and tobacco onto the mainland in 1980.
Further reading
Where Iron Runs Like Water! It is the largest of the gluteal muscles and one of the strongest muscles in the human body. It inserts at the iliotibial band and the gluteal tuberosity of the femur. Its action is to extend and outwardly rotate hip, and extend the trunk.
Powerlifting exercises which are known to significantly strengthen the gluteus maximus include the squat and the deadlift. The leg press also uses the gluteus maximus.

Muscles of the gluteal and posterior femoral regions. Gluteus minimus and the origins and insertions of medius and maximus labeled
Problems associated with the gluteal muscles
Sitting for long periods can lead to the gluteal muscles atrophying through constant pressure and disuse. This may be associated with (although not necessarily the cause of) lower back pain, difficulty with some movements that naturally require the gluteal muscles, such as rising from the seated position, and climbing stairs. Some attribute severe menstrual cycles including mood swings and irritability to gluteal muscle atrophy, however, there are a vast array of known contributors to dysmenorrhoea, and currently clinical evidence of such a causative association is lacking.
The bulk of the gluteal muscle mass contributes only partially to shape of the buttocks. The other major contributing factor is that of the panniculus adiposus of the buttocks, which is very well developed in this area, and gives the buttock its characteristic rounded shape. Although the gluteal muscle bulk and tone can be improved with massage and exercise, it is the disposition of the overlying panniculus adiposus which may be responsible for the "sagging butt" phenomenon.
Treatment
Studies have shown that exercise and massage are effective at reversing and protecting against atrophy of these muscles. Poisoning by eating Lathyrus sativus Indian Pea or khesari dhal will lead to emaciation of Buttock muscles (Neurolathyrism).
Exercise and stretching
Any exercise that works and/or stretches the buttocks is suitable, for example lunges, climbing stairs, fencing, bicycling, squats, arabesque, aerobics, and various specific exercises for the bottom.
Powerlifting exercises which are known to significantly strengthen the gluteal muscles include the squat, deadlift, leg press, feet in squats (chin on chest & stick glutes out) and good mornings (bend over with a bar on the shoulders with a light amount of weight).
Massage
Gluteal exercises and stretching must be accompanied by therapeutic massage both in the relaxed muscle condition and during the neuron firing of muscle flexing and stretching. In order to properly restore the gluteal muscle group, the first step is to relax the entire neck, shoulders, arms and back region with massage. Once the patient's upper body is relaxed, effleurage (light but thorough stroking with fingers and palms) of the top, middle, bottom and side portions of the gluteal muscles (entire buttock and top thigh areas) is used to initiate the gluteal muscle group massage while the buttocks are in the relaxed condition with the patient lying face down with the hips slightly elevated, a pillow having been placed under the pelvis. The purpose of the effleurage is to fire the neurons near the surface of the muscle group. Attention should also be given to the gluteal fold, the crease where buttocks meet thighs, as this is a sensitive area where major muscles are joined.
At least 10 minutes of effleurage should be used before moving to a deeper muscle massage. Deeper massage should only be performed when the muscles loosen sufficiently. The top, middle and bottom areas of the buttocks as well as the tops and all sides of the thighs are massaged with increasing firmness in order to stimulate the neurons deeply embedded within the muscle group. Liberal amounts of massage lotion should be used as this area can require very deep massage as the muscles loosen and permit it.
Some massage schools reportedly teach the use of the double handed repetitive "chop" alternating with slapping of the maximus area. The chop fires the deeply embedded neurons while the slap fires the surface neurons. If this is done while the patient is alternately flexing and relaxing, the result is almost total neuron firing and should be followed up with additional effleurage to totally relax the muscle group. Obviously communication between therapist and patient is important at this stage.
Attention should be given to the gluteal fold with increasing pressure. This being a sensitive area, the therapist should communicate freely with the patient to determine the proper amount of pressure needed to relax these muscles. The therapist can simultaneously use both of his or her thumbs beginning in the middle where the thighs and buttocks meet, and slowing moving the thumbs outward and around the tops of the thighs to eventually use the fingers to massage the fold where thigh meets abdomen (another area where muscles are joined).
The two massage regimes (effleurage and deep muscle massage) are then repeated with the gluteal muscle group in the process of active neuron firing. That is, the areas should be massaged while the patient is actually performing the various exercises and stretches outlined above as well as others tailored by the therapist. It is reported that this results in exterior and interior neuron firing in such a way that the entire muscle group's shape, tension and overall health is restored rapidly. A weekly cycle of massage is required to achieve good results.
See also
Gluteal crease
External links
8b. It is a technique several states have successfully used to address faulting in older jointed plain concrete pavements. The typical approach is to saw cut and jackhammer out the slots for the dowels. Following dowel placement the slots are then typically backfilled with a non-shrink concrete mixture (grout) and the pavement is diamond-ground to restore smoothness.
Contents
1 History
2 Dowel bar retrofit
3 Problems
4 External links

//

History
As a vehicle travels on jointed concrete roads the weight of the vehicle passes from one concrete panel to the next. When the vehicle traverses the joints the full weight is placed on the edge of the panel, where the panel is least able to withstand the deflection force. This can cause cracks as pavement shears off the edge of the panel. On older highways dowel bars (steel rods) were placed across the joints to help transfer the load from one panel to the next. This was discontinued because the dowel bars tended to corrode and need replacement. Instead, the cohesion between the panels and the strength of the road bed was relied upon to transfer the load. Over time the joint and road bed tends to break down, resulting in cracks and displacement of the panels.
In modern highways, dowel bars are once again placed across joints and at intervals along the pavement. Modern dowel bars are coated with epoxy to prevent corrosion.
Dowel bar retrofit
Many states are retrofitting older highways with new epoxy-coated dowel bars. The retrofit begins with cutting of six slots (three in each wheel path) across all transverse joints or cracks. The slots are cut with ganged diamond saws that make six cuts in each wheel path. The concrete between the saw cuts is then removed with lightweight jackhammers (heavy-weight jackhammers tend to damage the concrete around the cuts). The epoxy-coated dowel bars are placed in the slots and the slots are filled with grout and the joints or cracks are filled with waterproof caulk. The final step is to diamond-grind the joint to remove excess grout and remove any displacement of the panels.
The final step often involves diamond-grinding of the entire road surface to remove any bumps or dips. Without the dowel bar retrofit this grinding would have to be repeated every six to eight years but it is predicted that the dowel bar retrofit will greatly increase this interval.
Problems
Dowel bar retrofits have occasionally been plagued with problems. These problems are usually due to poor workmanship and can be avoided by careful following of specifications and close supervision of workers. Use of heavy jackhammers (heaver than 14 kg class) tends to cause cracking of the concrete all around the slots. Lack of caulk or voids in the caulk put in the joints or cracks leads to cracks around the joints. Voids in the grout (especially below the dowel bar) can cause failure of the grout.
External links
California Route 8
Wisconsin
Categories: Pavement engineering
Hidden categories: Orphaned articles from February 2009 | All orphaned articles(and so on)
To get More information , you can visit some products about
aluminum cast iron,
galvanized steel plates,
fruit basket wire,
glue metal,
black bed sheets,
burner cast iron,
brass grab bar,
barbecue grill stainless steel,
wall clocks metal,
glass vase metal,
.
The hot rolled steel coil products should be show more here!

Ball weight is 400-450 grams (14-16 ounces) and inflated to approximately 90 kPa (13 PSI) of pressure. Water polo balls come in two main sizes: a size 5 (0.7 meters or 28 inches in circumference), intended for use by men, and a size 4 (0.65 meters or 26.5 inches in circumference), intended for women. Smaller balls are sometimes used by juniors for "mini-polo," though these miniature do not typically come in standard sizes and are often coloured green.
Contents
1 Development of the water polo ball
2 Recent changes to water polo balls
3 Notes
4 Further reading
5 See also
6 External links

//

Development of the water polo ball
The modern game originated in the late 19th Century as a form of rugby football, played in rivers in England and Scotland, with a small 3 to 4 inch ball constructed of rubber imported from colonial plantations in India. This "water rugby" came to be called "water polo" based on the English pronunciation of the Balti word for ball, pulu. The original ball soon gave way to a football (soccer ball), which allowed for passing and swimming above water with the ball. However, the leather football absorbed water and became extremely heavy, slippery and out-of-control when wet. In 1936, James R. ("Jimmy") Smith, California water polo coach and author of several books on water polo mechanics, developed a ball made with an inflatable bladder and a rubber fabric cover, which improved performance. The new ball was red, but by 1948 yellow was adopted for better visibility by spectators. It became the official FINA and Olympic ball in 1956.
Recent changes to water polo balls

New style of water polo ball introduced in 2005
In the first half of 2005, FINA allowed a change to the standard water polo ball used in official games. This change permitted a coloured middle stripe (blue, green, red, black, or yellow) with the normal yellow stripes flanking the coloured.
In May 2006, the NCAA and National Federation of State High School Associations Rules Committees announced a rule change allowing the colored balls to be used in all NCAA and NFHS sanctioned games. The current rule states that the water polo ball must be ellow with black lines, but new wording will allow for colored panels. Mikasa Sports, manufacturer of the new colored ball, claims that the new ball benefits teams by making it easier for them to keep track of their balls, differentiating the women balls from the men and teaching proper rotation on the ball.
Unique designs and color combinations have been used to commemorate special competitions.
Notes
^ International Swimming Hall of Fame, Biography: Jimmy Smith Retrieved December 17, 2006
^ USA Water Polo: NCAA and NFHS Make Rule Change to Allow Colored Water Polo Balls Retrieved December 17, 2006
^ USA Waterpolo News (2008-07-03): OFFICIAL GAME BALL FOR S & R SPORT JUNIOR OLYMPICS ANNOUNCED (Accessed 2008-07-07)
Further reading
Norris (Ed.), Jim (April 1990). The axe has many forms and specialized uses but generally consists of an axe head with a handle, or helve.
The earliest examples of axes have heads of stone with some form of wooden handle attached (hafted) in a method to suit the available materials and use. Axes made of copper, bronze, iron, steel appeared as these technologies developed. The axe is an example of a simple machine, as it is a type of wedge, or dual inclined plane. This reduces the effort needed by the wood chopper. It splits the wood into two parts by the pressure concentration at the blade. The handle of the axe also acts as a lever allowing the user to increase the force at the cutting edge - not using the full length of the handle is known as choking the axe. For fine chopping using a side axe this sometimes is a positive effect, but for felling with a double bitted axe it reduces efficiency. Generally cutting axes have a shallow wedge angle, whereas splitting axes have a deeper angle. Most axes are double beveled, i.e. symmetrical about the axis of the blade, but some specialist broadaxes have a single bevel
blade, and usually an offset handle that allows them to be used for finishing work without putting the user's knuckles at risk of injury. Less common today, they were once an integral part of a joiner and carpenter's tool kit, not just a tool for use in forestry. A tool of similar origin is the billhook. However in France and Holland the billhook often replaced the axe as a joiner's bench tool.
Most modern axes have steel heads and wooden handles, typically hickory in the USA and ash in Europe, although plastic or fiberglass handles are also common. Modern axes are specialized by use, size and form. Hafted axes with short handles designed for use with one hand are often called hand axes but the term hand axe refers to axes without handles as well. Hatchets tend to be small hafted axes often with a hammer on the back side ( the poll).
Axes were frequently used in combat as they were easy to make, and the village edge tool makers were frequently the armourers to the lord of the manor in times of war.
Contents
1 History
2 Symbolism, ritual, and folklore
3 Parts of the axe
4 Forms of Axes
4.1 Axes designed to cut or shape wood
4.2 Axes as weapons
4.2.1 M
4.2.2 Pole Arm
4.2.3 Ranged
4.3 Axes for other uses
5 Hammer Axe
6 See also
7 Literature
7.1 Neolithic axes
7.2 Medieval axes
7.3 Superstition
8 References
9 External links

//

History

Roman axe in an ancient Roman relief in Brescia, Italy

A bronze axe from the Chinese Shang Dynasty, 12th to 11th centuries BC
Initially axes were probably not hafted. The first true hafted axes are known from the Mesolithic period (ca. 6000 BC). Axes made from ground stone are known since the Neolithic. Few wooden hafts have been found from this period, but it seems that the axe was normally hafted by wedging. Birch-tar and raw-hide lashings were used to fix the blade.
Sometimes a short section of deer antler (an "antler sleeve") was used, which prevented the splitting of the haft and softened the impact on the stone blade itself, helping absorb the impact of each axe blow and lessening the chances of breaking the handle. The antler was hollowed out at one end to create a socket for the axehead. The antler sheath was then either perforated and a handle inserted into it or set in a hole made in the handle instead.
The distribution of stone axes is an important indication of prehistoric trade. thin sectioning is used to determine the provenance of the stone blades. In Europe, Neolithic 'axe factories', where thousands of ground stone axes were roughed out are known from many places, such as:
Great Langdale, Great Britain (tuff)
Rathlin Island, Ireland (porcellanite)
Krzemionki, Poland (flint)
Plancher-les-Mines, France (pelite)
Val de'Aoste, Italy (omphacite).
Stone axes are still produced and in use today in parts of Irian Jaya, New Guinea. The Mount Hagen area was an important production centre.
From the late Neolithic/Chalcolithic onwards, axes were made of copper or copper mixed with arsenic. These axes were flat and hafted much like their stone predecessors. Axes continued to be made in this manner with the introduction of Bronze metallurgy. Eventually the hafting method changed and the flat axe developed into the langed axe, then palstaves, and later winged and socketed axes.
The Proto-Indo-European word for "axe" may have been pelek'u- (Greek pelekus ???????, Sanskrit parashu, see also Parashurama), but the...(and so on)
To get More information , you can visit some products about
water coupling,
soothing skin,
bathroom wall fan,
laundry bin,
single head stethoscope,
poplin cotton,
mini christmas trees,
suzuki body kits,
portable cash register,
dirt racing go karts,
.
The Optical Disc Storage Rack products should be show more here!

I want to introduct something about Ghost and Tree.

Features: 1) Height: 9" 2) Material: wood, soft plastic and polyresin 3) Quantity: 3pcs in 1 setmor

For other uses, see Glaze.

Composite body, painted, and glazed bottle. Dated 16th century. From Iran. New York Metropolitan Museum of Art.
Glaze is a layer or coating of a vitreous substance which has been fired to fuse to a ceramic object to color, decorate, strengthen or waterproof it.
Contents
1 Use
2 Process
3 History
4 See also
5 Footnotes
6 References

//

Use
Glazing is functionally important for earthenware vessels, which would otherwise be unsuitable for holding liquids due to porosity. Glaze is also used on functional and decorative stoneware and porcelain. In addition to the functional aspect of glazes, aesthetic concerns include a variety of surface finishes, including degrees of gloss and matte, variegation and finished color. Glazes may also enhance an underlying design or texture which may be either the "natural" texture of the clay or an inscribed, carved or painted design.

The Iron Pagoda in Kaifeng, China, built in 1049 during the Song Dynasty.
Glaze is used on building materials. The Iron Pagoda, built in 1049 CE in Kaifeng, China, of glazed bricks is an example.
Process
Glaze may be applied by dry dusting a dry mixture over the surface of the clay body. Liquid glazesuspensions of various powdered minerals, and metal oxidesan be applied by dipping pieces directly into the glaze, pouring the glaze over the piece, spraying it onto the piece with an airbrush or similar tool, with a brush, or with any tool that will achieve the desired effect.[citation needed]
To prevent the glazed article sticking to the kiln during firing either a small part of the item is left unglazed or special refractory supports, kiln spurs, are used as supports which are removed and discarded after the firing. Small marks left by these spurs can sometimes be visible on finished ware.
Decoration applied under the glaze on pottery is generally referred to as underglaze. Underglazes are applied to the surface of the pottery, which can be either raw, "greenware", or "bisque" fired (an initial firing of some articles before the glazing and re-firing). A wet glazesually transparents applied over the decoration. The pigment fuses with the glaze, and appears to be underneath a layer of clear glaze. An example of underglaze decoration is the well-known "Blue and white porcelain" porcelain famously produced in England, The Netherlands, China and Japan. The striking blue color is achieved by using the powerful colorant cobalt in the form of either cobalt oxide or cobalt carbonate, both of which are still commonly used in glaze formulation today.[citation needed]

Mug with blue underglaze decoration on porcelain.
Decoration applied on top of a layer of glaze is referred to as overglaze. Overglaze methods include applying one or more layers or coats of glaze on a piece of pottery or by applying a non-glaze substance such as enamel or metals (i.e., gold leaf) over the glaze.
Overglaze colors are low-temperature glazes that give ceramics a more decorative, glassy look. A piece is fired first, overglaze is applied, and it is fired again. Once the piece is fired and comes out of the kiln, its texture becomes smoother because of the glaze.
History
Earliest vessels date back to 10,000 BC. Vessels with a pointed shape and incised rope patterns, similar to Siberian vessels of the period, were made by people from northern Japan. These vessels were unglazed.[citation needed]
During the Kofun period of Japan, high-fired, hard-bodied sue ware was decorated with greenish natural ash glazes. From 552 AD to 794 AD, differently colored glazes were introduced. The three colored glazes of the Tang Dynasty were frequently used for a period, but were gradually phased out; the precise colors and compositions of the glazes have not been recovered. Natural ash glaze, however, was commonly used throughout the country.
From between the eighth century, the use of glazed ceramics was prevalent in Islamic art and Islamic pottery, usually assuming the form of elaborate pottery. Tin-opacified glazing was one of the earliest new technologies developed by the Islamic potters. The first Islamic opaque glazes can be found as blue-painted ware in Basra, dating to around the 8th century. Another significant contribution was the development of stoneware, originating from 9th century Iraq. Other centers for innovative ceramic pottery in the Islamic world included Fustat (from 975 to 1075), Damascus (from 1100 to around 1600) and Tabriz (from 1470 to 1550).
In the thirteenth century, flower designs were painted with red, blue, green, yellow, and black overglazes. Overglazes became very popular because of the polished look they gave ceramics.
See also
Pottery
Glaze defects
Porcelain
Swatow ware
Ash glaze
Shino (glaze)
..(and so on)
To get More information , you can visit some products about
polyethylene fabric,
picture frame box,
usb to lan adapter,
reebok sport shoes,
pocket bike upgrades,
brass plumbing fittings,
cast iron bathtubs,
double towel bar,
conveying equipment,
rubber viton,
.
The Ghost and Tree products should be show more here!

Cutting diamond requires specialized knowledge, tools, equipment, and techniques because of its extreme hardness.
The first guild of diamond cutters and polishers (diamantaire) was formed 1375 in Nuremberg, Germany, and led to the development of various types of 'Cut'. This has two meanings in relation to diamonds. The first is the shape: round, oval and so on. The second relates to the specific quality of cut within the shape, and the quality and price will vary greatly based on the cut quality. Since diamonds are very hard to cut, special diamond bladed edges are used to cut them. The first major development in diamond cutting came with the "Point Cut" during the latter half of the 14th century. The Point Cut follows the natural shape of an octahedron shaped raw diamond, eliminating waste in the cutting process.
Contents
1 Diamond cutting process
1.1 Planning
1.1.1 Maximizing Value
1.1.1.1 Weight retention
1.1.1.2 Color retention
1.1.2 Turnaround minimization
1.2 Cleaving or sawing
1.3 Bruting
1.4 Polishing
1.5 Final inspection
2 Cutting process
3 See also
4 External links
5 References

//

Diamond cutting process
The diamond cutting process includes these steps; planning, cleaving or sawing, bruting, polishing, and final inspection.
Planning
Diamond manufacturers analyze diamond rough from an economic perspective, with two objectives steering decisions made about how a faceted diamond will be cut. The first objective is that of maximum return on investment for the piece of diamond rough. The second is how quickly the finished diamond can be sold. Scanning devices are used to get 3-dimensional computer model of the rough stone. Also, inclusions are photographed and placed on the 3D model, which is then used to find an optimal way to cut the stone.
Maximizing Value
The process of maximizing the value of finished diamonds, from a rough diamond into a polished gemstone, is both an art and a science. The choice of cut is influenced by many factors. Market factors include the exponential increase in value of diamonds as weight increases, referred to as weight retention, and the popularity of certain shapes amongst consumers. Physical factors include the original shape of the rough stone, and location of the inclusions and flaws to be eliminated.
Weight retention
The weight retention analysis studies the diamond rough to find the best combination of finished stones as it relates to per carat value. For instance a 2.20 carat (440 mg) octahedron may produce either two half carat (100 mg) diamonds whose combined value may be higher than that of a 0.80 carat (160 mg) diamond and 0.30 carat (60 mg) diamond that could be cut from the same rough diamond.
The round brilliant cut and square brilliant cuts are preferred when the crystal is an octahedron, as often two stones may be cut from one such crystal. Oddly shaped crystals, such as macles are more likely to be cut in a fancy cuthat is, a cut other than the round brillianthich the particular crystal shape lends itself to.

An uncut diamond does not show its prized optical properties
Even with modern techniques, the cutting and polishing of a diamond crystal always results in a dramatic loss of weight; rarely is it less than 50%.[citation needed] Sometimes the cutters compromise and accept lesser proportions and symmetry in order to avoid inclusions or to preserve the weight. Since the per-carat price of a diamond shifts around key milestones (such as 1.00 carat), many one-carat (200 mg) diamonds are the result of compromising Cut quality for Carat weight. Some jewelry experts advise consumers to buy a 0.99 carat (198 mg) diamond for its better price or buy a 1.10 carat (220 mg) diamond for its better cut, avoiding a 1.00 carat (200 mg) diamond, which is more likely to be a poorly cut stone.
Color retention
In colored diamonds, cutting can influence the color grade of the diamond, thereby raising its value. Certain cut shapes are used to intensify the color of the diamond. The radiant cut is an example of this type of cut.
Natural green color diamonds most often have merely a surface coloration caused by natural...(and so on)
To get More information , you can visit some products about
wholesalers dvd,
ranges stove,
plastic magnet,
tubular lock,
ladies epilator,
racing air filter,
mini custom chopper,
quality towels,
wedding dresses pink,
granite tile cutting,
.
The Wireless Slim Keyboard with Multimedia Functions products should be show more here!

Advanced Protein B

It has been suggested that this article or section be merged into Baby transport. (Discuss)

History
The idea of a baby stroller first came into being with a man named William Kent. He was a garden architect in England who had become well known for his work. In 1733, the Duke of Devonshire asked Kent to build a means of transportation that would carry his children. Kent obliged by constructing a shell shaped basket on wheels that the children could sit in. This was richly decorated and meant to be pulled by a goat or small pony. Kent idea caught on and soon other royal family members owned similar contraptions.

1847 stroller from the John Leech Archives
In 1840, the baby carriage became extremely popular. Queen Victoria bought three carriages from Hitchings Baby Store.
The carriages of those days were built of wood or wicker and held together by expensive brass joints. These sometimes became heavily ornamented works of art. Models were also named after royalty, Princess and Duchess being popular names, as well as Balmoral and Windsor.
Later developments
In June 1889, William Richardson patented his idea of the first reversible stroller. The bassinet was designed so it could face out or in towards the parent. He also made structural changes to the carriage. Until then the axis did not allow each wheel to move separately, Richardson design allowed this which increased maneuverability of the carriages.
As the 1920s began modern baby carriages were now available to all families. They were also becoming safer as new features like larger wheels, brakes, deeper prams, and lower, sturdier frames began to appear.
In 1965, Owen Maclaren, an aeronautical engineer, worked on complaints his daughter made about traveling from England to America with her heavy pram. Using his knowledge of aeroplanes, Maclaren designed a stroller with an aluminum frame and created the first true umbrella stroller.
